3. How did Impact begin? Impact began as a rallying cry among African American students to take the truth of Jesus Christ to the campus, to the community and to the world. From the 500+ gathered for the first Impact National Conference in 1991 to the more than 2000 who have participated in each of the last three, we have seen students respond to this mission and vision. We have a growing number of alumni who have continued to stay connected to us, returning to our conferences in the hundreds. These alumni have gone back to their home churches and, in many cases, have stepped into leadership of youth ministry, while some into leading young adult ministry.
Today, The Impact Movement has a presence on more than 100 college campuses in the U.S. and Africa; and recently launched Impact Music--the music ministry of The Impact Movement.
As God brings the African American Christian community to maturity, He is calling for this community to assume increasing responsibility for the ministry He is doing in and through us. We are believing God to grant The Impact Movement to be an example in this respect. Therefore, we are trusting Him to give us the means to build this movement.
5. What does Impact do on a campus? We locate students who are qualified to lead a ministry on a given campus and resource them with materials that help them to lead more effectively. We teach them how to lead Bible studies, mentor their peers and share their faith. The students are then responsible for carrying out an expression of our core values (prayer, evangelism and spiritual growth) in a way that relates to the culture of their particular campus.
6. How is Impact staffed? The Impact Movement is comprised of a combination of full-time staff members and interns (fellows). Our full-time staff have committed to the work of the ministry on a full-time basis. Our fellowship is a one-year to two-year internship program during which recent college graduates fill critical ministry needs at our world headquarters in Orlando, FL.

8. How is Impact funded? Impact Movement staff members and fellows are asked to trust the Lord to raise all or a portion of the funds required for their salaries and ministry expenses.
