Impact Field Ministries

Impact Community

Community Engagement
oversees Impact's passion and commitment to engage and resource the African American community. As emerging leaders of African descent, we are an influential force of prevention, redemption, and progress to address the social, moral, and spiritual issues plaguing our people through a Christ-centered lifestyle of community engagement. We are committed to achieving these aims through a nurturing and sustained partnership with the Black church.

We will fulfill this mission by:
  • Advocating social awareness to advance the African-American community.
  • Empowering youth of African descent for a lifetime of spiritual growth, leadership development and academic success.

  • Providing resources for African American economic development.

Community Engagement values include service (faith-in-action), awareness, influence, and partnership. Our Impact staff and fellows engage in community service locally in Orlando, where our headquarters are located. We also resource Impact campus chapters, college student leaders and our growing network of alumni through nationwide community service initiatives.

The most recent I ACT national initiative is tutoring. We believe God has placed special gifts in us to reach our community that is in need (Isaiah 61:1-3). Through I ACT and the tutoring campaign we encourage you to join us and take the initiative to get involved in tutoring a young person for one hour a week.

You can get involved at a local school, recreational/community center, library or church. To learn more about Community Engagement and join the with I ACT through the tutoring  campaign, contact Scott.Crocker@impactmovement.com.

Entermission 2010 Spring Break
"…and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
Acts 1:8

Instead of taking an intermission this Spring Break why not enter the mission in Detroit? In Acts 1:8 Jesus tells the disciples to be His witnesses first in their own neighborhoods and local areas and then ultimately they will be His witness on a global scale. Often there’s a lot of hype for the Samarias & the ends of the earth but what about our Jerusalems? A Christian hip hop artist rephrases Acts 1:8 in this way: "He [Jesus] saves us from sin and then sends us out, first to the block, we're supposed to go local, then to uttermost parts, we're supposed to go global.” Let's see what happens when we trust God to go local with the truth of Jesus Christ.

Entermission will be an opportunity to serve in one of our nation’s hardest hit cities. Low graduation rates coupled with high unemployment rates, crime rates and illiteracy rates has left Detroit, Michigan desperately in need of hope and godly leaders. Through various community and campus outreaches we will have the opportunity to see God bring hope back this once powerful Renaissance City.
